Late goal pushes EHS booters past Bearcats
GRAFTON — Tristan Whited converted a penalty kick with 3 minutes left in regulation as Elkins claimed a 1-0 win over Grafton Tuesday night in Big 10 Conference action.
“Tonight wasn’t our best performance, but we defended well and found a way to pull out a win,” Tigers coach Scott Cutright said. “Grafton is a really good team and played in the state semifinals last season, so I’m really proud of our boys’ effort.”
Elkins is now 9-1-3 on the season and was slated to visit Class AA-A state runner-up East Fairmont on Thursday night for another Big 10 matchup.
