Lady Bulldogs get past Pendleton

MILL CREEK — Tygarts Valley held Pendleton County without a field goal in the third quarter en route to a 48-38 win Tuesday night in a battle of regional foes at Weber-Wamsley Court.

Sarah Defibaugh scored 16 of her game-high 22 points over the first two quarters as the Lady Bulldogs took a 25-20 lead into the intermission.

Both teams went cold from the floor in the third canto — combining for just 10 points — as Tygarts Valley carried a 32-23 cushion in the final canto.

Emily Smith scored all six of her points on the night in the final frame to help the hosts pull away.

Kailen Yokum chipped in eight points for the Lady Bulldogs, who have won three straight games to improve to 5-2 and will visit East Hardy at 6 p.m. Friday.
