Despite games being put on ice due to weather, latest rankings revealed

ELKINS — The high school basketball seasons have been put on ice this week but several area squads remain in the latest West Virginia Schools Athletic Coaches Association (WVSACA) polls.
The Buckhannon-Upshur boys are eighth in Class AAAA and Tucker County is seventh in Class A.
The Bucs are 9-4 on the season and are slated to visit Fairmont Senior this evening, weather permitting.
The Mountain Lions, who have won five straight games, are 10-5 and scheduled to travel to East Hardy on Friday night.
Pendleton County is sixth in single-A as well, along with East Hardy at ninth.

The Big 10 Conference has four teams ranked in the top 10 in Class AAA — No. 2 Bridgeport, No. 4 North Marion. No. 5 East Fairmont and No. 10 Robert C. Byrd.
PVC member Petersburg is ninth in Class AA.
Morgantown is first in Class AAAA, Capital sets atop of the Class AAA rankings, Wheeling Central is first in Class AA and Tug Valley No. 1 in single-A.
In the girls poll, Philip Barbour is eighth and Petersburg tied for ninth in Class AA, while Tucker County and Pocahontas County are sixth and seventh, respectively, in single-A
George Washington (AAAA), Greenbrier East (AAA), James Monroe (AA) and Gilmer County (A) are ranked first in their respective classes.
