Nutter fires in 22 as Elkins garners win over regional foe

ROMNEY — Isaiah Nutter fired in 22 points as Elkins claimed a 50-47 win over regional foe Romney on Saturday.
The Tigers (4-11) have won two straight games and return to action at 7:30 p.m. today at Lincoln for a Big 10 Conference contest.
Elkins trailed 12-8 after one quarter before Nutter drained three treys in the second quarter to help the Tigers take a 24-16 lead into the halftime break.
The Trojans responded in the third canto, holding am 18-10 scoring edge to tie the game at 34-34.
The Tigers outscored the hosts, 16-13, in the final frame.
Nutter was joined in double figures by teammates Landon Shreve with 13 and Dreyton Boggs with 11.
Matt Medina had 13 points for Hampshire, which dropped to 0-18 and remains home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to battle East Hardy.
