Wildcats pull away from Bulldogs with strong second half
FRANKLIN — Pendleton County pulled away in the second half to hand Tygarts Valley a 54-40 setback Wednesday night in a battle of regional foes.
Chase Owens fired in 26 points for the Wildcats, who led 25-22 at halftime.
The Bulldogs were then outscored, 14-10, in the third and 15-8 in the final frame.
Jacob Wamsley and Alex Scott had 11 points each for Tygarts Valley. Parker Bell also reached double figures with 10.
The Bulldogs (5-9) return home this evening to battle East Hardy at 7:30 p.m. and remain at 4 p.m. Saturday to face Union.
Pendleton County (10-3) was slated to entertain East Hardy on Wednesday evening.
