Bulldogs cruise past Mountain Lions

Tigers fall to Grafton; Bucs best Polar Bears

MILL CREEK — Adam Woods collected four RBIs as Tygarts Valley cruised to a 22-3 win over Tucker County on Thursday.

Woods had a two-run double in the first as part of an 18-run outburst for the Bulldogs, who drew 11 walks in the three-inning affair.

Drew Arbogast, Austin Gear, Preston Smith and Noah McAtee each had two RBIs on the night.

McAtee finished with two hits.

Caleb Teter went all three frames to earn the win, giving up four hits and fanning two.

Owen Helmick, Zane Carr and Owen Bolyard had RBIs for the Mountain Lions.

Tygarts Valley (7-4) remains home today to host Richwood at 6 p.m.

Tucker County (1-6) hosts Pendleton County at 5 p.m. Monday.

Grafton 17, Elkins 2

GRAFTON — A 10-run first inning by Grafton was too much for Elkins to overcome in a 17-2 setback Thursday in Big 10 Conference action.

Brady Biller had a homer and Blayne Thompson an RBI single for the Tigers.

Braden Cooper was tagged with the loss, while Jacob Moats earned the win.

Greyson Ramezan had six RBIs for the Bearcats, including a two-run single in the first.

Elkins host Robert C. Byrd this evening.

B-U 10, Fairmont Senior 3

TENNERTON — Jaxson Spratt had a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs to power Buckhannon-Upshur to a 10-3 win over Big 10 foe Fairmont Senior on Thursday.

Jacob Frye earned the win for the Bucs, going all seven innings, allowing six hits and fanning four.

Brody McDaniels and Jerin Westfall added two hits each for B-U, which is now 6-1 and will visit Bridgeport on Monday for a league showdown.
