Trio of EHS wrestlers to compete in state tourney

HUNTINGTON — Elkins High School will be represented by three wrestlers in the Division II portion of the state tourney set to get underway today Marshall Health Network Arena. The three-day event begins at 6:30 p.m. with 224 matches and concludes Saturday evening for the championship matches. Tigers competing include junior Tucker Twigg, junior Chiron Wing and sophomore Isaac Workman. Twigg, competing in the 144-pound class, is 32-3 on the season and captured the regional title. WHEELING — Vegas Evans’ jumper with 27 seconds left to play lifted eighth-seed Davis & Elkins College to a 75-73 win over ninth-seed Point Park Wednesday night in Mountain East Conference first-round play at WesBanco Arena. MORGANTOWN — Saturday, March 7, marks the first spring practice for West Virginia football. Just a couple of days before the start, Rich Rodriguez had his pre-spring press conference.
