Responsible timbering makes sense

Improving the health of West Virginia’s State Parks is the objective of Senate Bill SB270 and House Bill HB4082. Gov. Jim Justice appears to be in favor of this legislation. According to State Park officials, West Virginia’s 81,000 acres of forested land within all of the parks are in need of at least $40 million worth of improvements and repairs. At the present time, there has been no timbering or logging in any of the state parks or forests for more than 80 years, with the exception of Kanawha State Forest. The dirt tracks in Georgia and Florida are in full swing for the next two weeks. Speedweeks 2018 gets started at Golden Isle Speedway with the Rhino Ag Super Bowl of Racing. This was two nights of Lucas Oil Super Late Model Racing. West Virginia’s own Josh Richards showed why he was last year’s points champion by sweeping both nights of the event. The big game hunting seasons are now history, and the weather picture for next week does not look at all favorable for this area. Engines were roaring around Daytona International Speedway to kick off Speedweeks 2018. The Rolex 24 at Daytona is one of the most important endurance races in the world. It draws drivers from all over the world and every type of racing. There are three groups of different cars that race the same time on the same track. I was supposed to be recovering from carpal tunnel surgery this week but it seems that having cellulitis takes a front row seat over elective surgery. After multiple days of bed rest and antibiotics it seems I may be going to the hospital if they can find a bed for me. Please pray for all the people dealing with this flu that’s trying to take over. The elderly are especially in trouble or those that may have compromised immune systems or respiratory issues. Archery program thriving in schools

The National Archery in the Schools Program was actually started by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources in 2002. Its purpose was to address the lack of archery competition shooting in physical education classes of public schools. To date, millions of youth have participated in this program, not only in the United States, but also in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.
