DNR proposals could bring some changes

I attended the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Public Regulations meeting held last week at Buckhannon-Upshur High School. This year, all state sportsmen and women would do well to get one of the questionnaires, study it and fill it out. There are a total of 22 questions on this year’s questionnaire. In the 1920s, this state was nearly engulfed in the coal mine wars, and the Hatfield-McCoy family type feuds would often get out of control. DNR trout stockings are in high gear

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources trout stocking season is now in high gear, and is currently running Monday through Friday, weather permitting. The winter and spring stockings will run through May 31. The trout stocking began on Jan. 2, with stockings at Blackwater River, Cranberry River, Pendleton Lake and a few others. On Jan. 3, the DNR stocked the East Fork of the Greenbrier River, Spruce Knob Lake, the West Fork of the Greenbrier River and about a dozen other streams throughout the state.
