Hints From Heloise

Activated charcoal absorbs odors Dear Heloise: When I moved into an apartment that had recently become nonsmoking, I quickly learned that the odor from previous tenants can linger for far longer than expected. Even after maintenance aired out the apartment with a fan, the tobacco smell was so strong that I woke up my first night coughing and uncomfortable. The next day, I visited a hardware store and asked for advice. I was told to try activated charcoal, which comes in a small plastic container about the size of an onion-dip tub. Trump orders federal agencies to stop using Anthropic technology

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Friday that he was ordering all federal agencies to stop using Anthropic’s technology following the company’s unusually public dispute with the Pentagon over artificial intelligence safety. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also said he was designating Anthropic as a supply chain risk, a move that could prevent U.S. military vendors from working with the company. Hegseth’s remarks, delivered in a social media post, came shortly after the Pentagon’s deadline for Anthropic to allow unrestricted military use of its AI technology or ...
