March Madness expansion will not be discussed until after this year’s tourney

(AP) — The NCAA won’t discuss expanding the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments until after this year’s version of March Madness finishes, senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt said Thursday. Gavitt told that to a group of reporters who were attending an NCAA event in Indianapolis. There has been talk for the past few months that the NCAA could expand the tournament field to 72 or 76 starting in 2027. NCAA President Charlie Baker said last year that adding teams could add value to the tournament, and he said the NCAA already has had “good conversations” ...

A front-row seat to a midlife spiral

Dear Annie: My friend of 20 years confessed to having a crush on her executive coach, which then developed into a flirtation, which then became a sexting affair. I have always known she is unhappy in her marriage, but I cannot condone cheating and have told her so. She’s also started vaping, pierced her nose, talked about buying a new car (she just bought her last one two years ago) and even had an addition put on her house so she could have her own room away from her family. I’ve told her she’s exhibiting signs of a mid-life crisis. She told me she’s fine and that working ...

Parents might consider having a separate cellphone in the house to replace the old landline and teach youngsters how to use it if needed. Thank you for all your ...

Western ideas actually work

Trigger warning: The following discusses themes of race, gender, “hate” speech ... Author Heather Mac Donald takes a lot of heat. She writes about race, crime, diversity, gender, merit — and says things that got her shouted down on college campuses. She points out the absurdity of the left’s attack on Western civilization. “For the left to claim that the West is the source of inequity in the world,” she says, “oppression, racism, the crushing of minority voices, of indigenous populations, that is so ignorant! It is so blind to the reality of history ...
