Janice Parfitt

Janice Parfitt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, in Elkins, West Virginia, at the age of 87.

Janice was born on Nov. 5, 1936, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, to Chester and Alice Wyant.

She grew up in a loving home alongside her sisters, Joan Hooks of Sharon, Pennsylvania, Lynn Wyant of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Joy Sander, who survives her, of Hatboro, Pennsylvania.

On Aug, 28, 1955, Janice married the love of her life, Noble Parfitt. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared nearly 69 years of marriage.

Janice is survived by her devoted children, Linda Koch (Joseph) of Elkins, West Virginia, David Parfitt (Vickie) of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Christopher Parfitt (Pamela) of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren.

Janice was a dedicated member of Zion Methodist Church in Parsonsburg, Maryland, where she was an active participant in various church activities and community outreach programs. Her faith and generosity touched many lives, and she will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and compassion.

Janice’s life was a testament to love, family, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A private memorial service will be observed by her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Methodist Church in Parsonsburg, Maryland, in Janice’s honor.

Rest in peace, Janice. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
