Elkins Council returning to virtual meetings

ELKINS — Elkins City Council will return to virtual meetings due to local COVID-19 numbers increasing, a city press release announced Wednesday afternoon. City officials also announced that the Elkins Fire Department will be closed to the public until further notice, but will continue operating normally, and that Elkins Municipal Court will operate on a limited schedule through the end of the year. PHILIPPI — Free COVID-19 testing will be offered today in Barbour County, which is currently listed as orange on the state’s color-coded map. The free testing will be offered today through Friday at the Junior Volunteer Fire Department on Row Avenue in Junior, from 1-5 p.m. each afternoon. Randolph’s third COVID-related death reported

ELKINS — Local health officials confirmed the county’s third coronavirus-related death during Randolph County Emergency Management COVID-19 update conference call on Monday. A 65-year old male from Elkins passed away over the weekend, as the state’s death total linked to the virus has grown to 842.
