With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pattie Joan Salisbury, a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, who passed away at her residence in Monterville on Dec. 22, 2024, at the age of 63 surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 27, 2024. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church, 412 Randolph Avenue, Elkins from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024. James Morgan Simmons, 89, of Griswold Road, Elyria, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2024. Born on Aug. 27, 1935, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to the late Mason Simmons and Alma (Pickrell) Simmons. Jim lived a life full of hard work, dedication and a deep love for his family and country. Jim was a graduate of Coalton School in 1955, and soon after began working at a young age in the coal mines and sawmill in Cassity, West Virginia. William Gail “Bill” Morgan, 83, a resident of Monterville West Virginia, departed this life at 1:22 in the afternoon, Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, at Mountain Memories Assisted Living & Retirement Center under the care of WV Caring Hospice. He was born Aug. 17, 1941 at Hemlock, West Virginia, the only child of Gail and Luellen Morgan. Bill graduated from Tygarts Valley High School in May of 1959 and then joined the Army.
