Vonda Ruth Gumm, 92, a resident of Elkins, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 15, 2026, in Mountain Memories Assisted Living and Retirement Center under the care of West Virginia Caring Hospice. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 20, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug 21, from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating. Robert 'Lennie' Scott, former resident of Elkins. passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at the age of 76 after suffering for 4 1/2 years with Cerebral Dementia and Parkinson Syndrome. He was residing at a Memory Care Facility in Fishers, Indiana at the time of his death. Lennie had retired to Fishers with his wife of 16 years, Dee Dee Ward Scott, also from Elkins, who was a close family friend and a previous college sweetheart. They were married in March of 2010.
