Help needed with free meals program

On March 12 years ago, several churches met and made the decision to serve a free meal each Saturday. Meals would be served at Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 First Street, Elkins. The name Common Ground was chosen. Each church serving would bring their own supplies and use Woodford’s kitchen. At one time there were 14 churches participating. Recently we have had five churches that had to quit serving for a while due to COVID. At present all meals are take-out, either a hot or cold lunch. You know, and are probably getting very tired of, the necessary measures used to limit the spread of COVID-19: mask wearing; hand washing; physical distancing measures, which include routinely keeping a distance of at least 6 feet; quarantining if you’ve been exposed and isolating when sick. Driving safely around big trucks

Big trucks are a lot less scary when you understand them. The PSC’s Transportation Enforcement Officers patrol the state’s highways and the turnpike to ensure that commercial motor vehicles, such as semis and buses, are in compliance with safety regulations. We readers can understand that an attempt to bring our community together was made in the article, dated Jan. 16, 2021, on the front page of the Inter-Mountain, titled, “Local Attorney Sees Modern Parallel to Historic Battle.” This attempt, however well-meaning, really falls flat for anyone with a conscience because George Triplett implies that we are out for revenge against Trump. Vaccination clinic staff praised

My husband and I attended the COVID vaccine inoculation for ages 70+ on Wednesday, Jan. 13. The process was flawless. The persons taking care of us were friendly. Scene at Capitol was disturbing

Jan. 6, as I was watching what was going on at our Capitol, I got sick at my stomach to see people storming into our house, wanting to stop Vice President Pence and others who were doing what is in our Constitution to certify Joe Biden’s win.
