Dispute over an alleged statement

A Navy vet said I was lying when I quoted what Trump said about our heroes who lost their lives in wars defending our great country. How can you call me a liar? Trump was the one who made the statement, but yet you don’t want to see him for what a loser he is. Trump has no respect for vets, or anyone who doesn’t worship him. I am so sorry for you to make excuses for him. So the next time before you call someone else a liar you need to check out what was said. Lloyd Denzil Price Beverly

Census taker finds hope in his travels

I recently spent two and a half months working for the U.S. Census Bureau counting people. My journey took me through six counties. Hampshire to Hardy ... Pendleton to Pocahontas ... Randolph to Webster. Election time is rolling around again

It is time to vote again, So stop and think how the Republicans in Charleston raised our taxes on vehicles, trailers, boats, driving licenses and not just a little but almost doubling them. Teachers had to go on strike to get a raise. Just to hear the lies from the Republicans. We pay more taxes and have poor road conditions, so where did the money go? I want to encourage the voters of Randolph County to vote for Jim Webley for sheriff. I have known Jim for many years and have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for him.
