Hospital changing visitation rules
WESTON — Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital released the following announcement Monday:
“Out of an abundance of caution for our community and Mon Health colleagues to mitigate spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we will no longer be allowing visitors into Mon Health hospitals, offices, or clinics.
“We know this is very hard on friends and families, but safety is our priority. We promise that these steps are being taken in the best interest of everyone’s health.
“There are four areas that are the exception, as we recognize they are the most delicate of circumstances.
“One adult visitor will be permitted in:
“• Labor and delivery
“• End of life care (Hospice)
“• Patients undergoing surgery or invasive procedures
“• Extreme circumstances when exceptions may be required
“Visitors to those areas will still be screened before entering the facility. Any visitor who does not meet the screening criteria will not be permitted to enter our facilities. We understand these restrictions are frustrating, but the safety of you, our patients, our team, and our community is our number one priority.”
