Davis, Thomas make ‘Best Mountain Towns’ list

TUCKER COUNTY — Davis and Thomas were among the five West Virginia towns to make a nationwide list celebrating the 106 “Best Mountain Towns” in America.
Davis was ranked No. 36 on the list, while Thomas and Davis grouped together took the No. 67 slot.
Other West Virginia towns making the list were Lewisburg at No. 29, Berkeley Springs at No. 34 and Harpers Ferry at No. 62.
The towns on the list “offer the perfect blend of breathtaking landscapes, cozy charm, and adventure,” according to wegodating.com, which compiled the list. “Whether it’s affordability, stunning weather, or a better quality of life that draws you in, these destinations have something for everyone.”
The study analyzed 106 U.S. mountain towns, “ranking them based on nine key factors like affordability, weather, and quality of life. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a serene retreat, or a new place to call home, these towns stand out as the best of the best,” the site states.
The list’s Top 5 towns included Tucson, Arizona at No. 1, Rutherfordton, North Carolina at No. 2, Terlingua, Texas at No. 3, Bentonville, Arkansas at No. 4 and Bend, Oregon at No. 5.

In order to determine which towns would be on the list and how they would rank, the site evaluated 170 U.S. mountain towns, focusing on weather, affordability and quality of life.
