Candidate Forum offered in Elkins

ELKINS — The Randolph County Democratic Party recently offered a Forum and Meet and Greet with the candidates running in the May Primary for U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, District 2.

Those seats are currently held by Shelley Moore Capito and Riley Moore.

Three of the Democratic Senate candidates attended, Thornton Cooper, Rachel Fetty-Anderson and Jeffrey Kessler.

Congressional candidates attending were Ace Parsi, Stephanie Tomana and Steven Wendelin.

Following a brief introduction, the candidates responded to questions concerning world affairs, national issues and their plans to use their positions in the government to best help the residents of West Virginia.

Following the forum, attendees had the opportunity to discuss concerns one on one with the candidates.

The event took place at the Wingate by Wyndham in Elkins.

The last day to register to vote in West Virginia is April 21, and the May Primary is May 12.
