BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon man accused of kidnapping his infant grandchild and shooting at a vehicle with his stepfather in it was among 39 individuals indicted by an Upshur County grand jury Tuesday.

Craig Allen Stimson, 41, was indicted on charges of kidnapping, use or presentment of a firearm during a felony, prohibited person in possession of a concealed firearm, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, fleeing with reckless indifference, and wanton endangerment involving a firearm, all felonies; and a misdemeanor count of brandishing a deadly weapon.

Stimson was arrested on Christmas Day 2019 after allegedly shooting at a vehicle in Buckhannon and leaving the scene with an 8-month-old child in a black Dodge Avenger headed towards Route 33, police said.

With officers in pursuit, Stimson allegedly drove into Lewis County on Route 33 West at speeds reaching approximately 85-90 mph, and then 90-100 mph on I-79, according to the criminal complaint.

The Clarksburg Police Department deployed stop sticks on exit 119 of I-79 in Harrison County which brought the pursuit to a close, the complaint states.

Stimson was ordered to the ground by officers and taken into custody while the child was reunited with a family member on scene, court documents state. Police wrote that the baby was lying unrestrained on top of clothing in the passenger seat of the car.

A loaded silver .40 caliber firearm, with the safety off, was recovered from the passenger seat of the vehicle next to where the child was located, according to the complaint.

The criminal complaint stated that Stimson has a prior conviction involving using a firearm and knife to do bodily injury to a victim in a 2017 case.

Stephanie Nicole Green, 33, of French Creek, on one felony court of embezzlement.

Brandon Cole Cartrette, 24, of Buckhannon, on one felony count of burglary, and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

Robert Page Dowell, 29, of Buckhannon, on one felony count of child abuse resulting in injury and one felony county of malicious assault.

James Andrew Peck on one felony count of failure to provide notice of change in sex offender registration information, life registrant, second offense.

Michael Byron Norman, 25, Buckhannon, on one felony count of domestic violence, third or subsequent offense.

Nathaniel Ray Carroll, 29, Buckhannon, on one felony count of dntry of a building other than a dwelling, and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

In a separate indictment, Carroll was named on one felony count of burglary, and one felony county of grand larceny.

In another separate indictment, Carroll was named on two counts grand larceny, one count damage to natural gas property.

Jason Paul Skinner, 40, of Crawford, on one felony count of strangulation, and one felony count of wanton endangerment.

Gregg Scott Haymond, 47, of Buckhannon, on one felony count of driving while license revoked for DUI, third or subsequent offense, and one felony count of false evidences forgery etc., of title and registration.

Morgan Moore, 31, of Buckhannon, on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, with the intent to deliver; one felony count of gross child neglect creating a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury; one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of controlled substances; one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of controlled substances with unemancipated minors.

Bryan David Shaw, 38, Buckhannon, one felony count of burglary, and misdemeanor counts of domestic assault, petit larceny, destruction of property.

Pamela Sue Perrine, 38, Buckhannon, two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
