Children can look forward to multiple Easter egg hunt events

ELKINS – With Easter Sunday fast approaching on March 31, several local organizations, businesses, and churches are hosting Easter Egg hunts leading up to the traditional Sunday holiday.

One event is scheduled for today, as Autumn Lake Healthcare in Crystals Springs hosts an Easter Party from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be an egg hunt during the event and children attending can have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. The party is open to the public and is for children from toddlers to 12 years old.

Two big Easter Egg hunts are slated for this Saturday, one at 4-H Camp Pioneer and another in Glendale Park in Elkins.

The event at 4-H Camp will get under way at 10 a.m. and is being presented by the 4-H Teen Leaders. The event will include games, face painting, coloring contests, and many great prizes at the event. There will also be an all-you-can eat breakfast during the celebration. Breakfast will be available beginning at 7 a.m.

The Easter Egg hunt at Glendale Park will be hosted by the First United Methodist Church and will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday. Treat bags will be handed out to children attending the event. There is no charge for the hunt. In the case of inclement weather, there will be a makeup date on March 30 at 2 p.m.

The Elkins First Church of Nazarene will host an Easter Egg hunt on Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. Light refreshments and prizes will be given to children, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the event.

Elkins American Legion Post 29 will hold a Kid’s Easter Party on Thursday, March 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The party will be held in Calain Hall and is for children 12 years old and under. Children will be treated to prizes, snacks and the Easter Bunny, who will take photos with those attending.

On Saturday, March 30, the Elkins Parks and Recreation Commission will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Elkins City Park. The hunt is scheduled for 10 a.m. and is for children 10 years old and under.

On the same Saturday, the Calvary Assembly of God in Valley Head is hosting a Resurrection Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend.

Tygart Valley Ministries Beverly Community Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt after church on Easter Sunday, March 31, at approximately 12:30 p.m. The hunt is free and open to all children.
