MILL CREEK — Valley Health Care is announcing a “significant expansion project” at its Elkins Health Center facility.

The expansion of the facility’s second floor will add about 8,000 square feet of new clinical space, an elevator will be installed and the front office area will be completely remodeled.

“We are thrilled to embark on this expansion project, which represents our ongoing dedication to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of our community,” said Jordan Godwin, CEO of Valley Health Care. “By increasing our clinical space and enhancing our facilities, we aim to provide our patients with even greater access to high-quality healthcare services in a comfortable and welcoming environment.”

The expansion project is expected to begin in early June and be completed by the end of 2024 or in early 2025.

“We understand the importance of accessibility and convenience in healthcare delivery, and the installation of the elevator reaffirms our commitment to providing inclusive care to all members of our community,” Godwin said.

The expansion project “marks a significant milestone in VHC’s commitment to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to the community,” a Valley Health Care press release states.

The project “encompasses a variety of enhancements aimed at improving patient care and experience,” the release states, adding, “The total VHC Elkins Campus will be more than 20,000 square feet of medical space.”

The expansion will enable VHC, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), to “accommodate a growing patient population and offer an expanded range of services, including primary care, walk-in appointments, behavioral health services, and more. Additionally, the remodeled front office area will streamline administrative processes and improve the overall patient experience from the moment they enter the facility.

“The addition of an elevator will ensure that all patients, including those with mobility challenges, can easily access the second-floor clinical space without any barriers,” the release states.

“Throughout the construction process, VHC will take all necessary precautions to minimize disruptions to patient care and ensure a smooth transition to the enhanced facilities.”
