FAIRMONT — The Tygart Valley United Way announced that it recently received a substantial monetary gift that will help support its 2025 fundraising campaign.
The Christ Episcopal Church of Fairmont and Reverend Dean Lawrence presented a check for $30,000 to the Tygart Valley United Way recently. Other members of the church, along with representatives from the TVUW were also on hand for the presentation.
The Tygart Valley United Way has raised 57% of this year’s campaign goal, which is $605,000. The organization supports 42 programs that are operated by 30 health and human services in Randolph, Barbour, Tucker, Taylor and Marion counties.
“The needs in our communities continue to grow, and this extraordinary gift from Christ Episcopal Church comes at a truly critical time,” said Tygart Valley United Way CEO Brett White. “Their leadership and generosity reflect a deep commitment to caring for neighbors and investing in solutions that help people not just get by, but truly thrive. This is a collective impact in action.”
Reverend Lawrence hopes the gift will inspire others to give to the Tygarts Valley United Way. He said it was important for everyone to work together so that community needs are met.
“We see the need every single day,” Lawrence said. “There are always individuals and families who need help, and we know we can make a far greater impact when we come together as a community.
“Partnering with United Way allows us to extend our reach and ensure support gets where it is needed most.”
