Lurch Fest expecting big crowd Saturday

Landmark Baptist Church celebrates 35 years

ELKINS — The Landmark Baptist Church of Elkins celebrated its 35 years of ministry in the community with a cookout after services on Sunday. The church, which was founded by Dr. Kenneth Shiflet in 1991, began as a mission work fully supported by Landmark Baptist Church of Richmond, the Atlantic Baptist Bible Fellowship, and 16 other Baptist churches. MILL CREEK — A Kentucky man is facing felony charges in Randolph County after allegedly using his brother's information in a fraudulent check scheme to steal more than $4,000 from a West Virginia resident. Preston H. Biggs, 30, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, is charged with one count of fraudulent schemes and one count of possession of counterfeit or unauthorized access device with intent to defraud, both felonies.
