Upshur, Lewis residents warned about scams
BUCKHANNON - Delegate, Adam Burkhammer, R-District 64, is warning notifying Upshur and Lewis county residents of confirmed reports about scammers targeting those affected by last week's flooding. It was reported that the scammers are using blocked or unknown phone numbers and “calling residents and claiming to represent insurance companies” and that “are requesting personal information and asking questions about flood damage and insurance claims,” according to a social media post released by Burkhammer.
