Four killed in Barbour County fire

JUNIOR — Four people were killed in a mobile home fire likely caused by "consumer grade pyrotechnic materials" Wednesday evening, officials said. According to a release put out Thursday afternoon by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office, at 10:41 p.m. on Wednesday, Barbour County 911 received a call regarding a residential structure fire at 355 West River Avenue in Junior. Buckhannon to receive $33M for project

BUCKHANNON - The City of Buckhannon will receive $33.3 million in federal funding for water infrastructure upgrades, the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development announced this week. The investment from the USDA will go toward the construction of a new water plant. The new facility will replace the existing 65-year-old plant and will contain a raw water intake and raw water-pumping station.
