Allen Wallace Conrad

He was born Monday, Jan. 10, 1972, at Fort Meade, Maryland, a son of the late Colonel Herman Andrew and Betty Jean Simon Conrad.

Surviving are three brothers, William Conrad and wife, Lauris, Turlock, California, Jerry Daniel Simon and wife, Carrie, of Akron, Ohio, Michael K. Simon and wife, Allicen, of Elkins; two sisters, Suzanne Grazier of Tampa, Florida, and Lori Robinson Haines of Nashville, Tennessee; his partner, Traci Busch of Elkins; many nieces and nephews; great- nieces and nephews, friends; and his beloved cat.

Allen was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1990, Triangle Tech, the Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, studied Mechanical Engineering at Point Park University and Building Technology at Fairmont State University.

He was employed at Mountain Memories at Elkins and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he played drums in the Praise Band, was on the Board of Directors and the Pastor Residence Committee. He was co-owner of Conrad Antiques LLC at the Buckhannon Antique Mall. He enjoyed hot camping, RVing, boating, fishing, and his side by side. Allen was an avid motorcyclist, classic car and antique car enthusiast.

He will be greatly missed by all that were privileged to know him.

Allen’s request for cremation was honored.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday. A Graveside Service will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown, West Virginia.

The Rev. Brian Seders will officiate and inurnment will follow.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the First United Methodist Church, 315 Kerens Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241.
