Helen ‘Marie’ Brady

Marie was married to Bob Brady on Jan. 6, 1956, and they were happily married for 40 years until his death.

Marie is survived by children, Christina Hayden (Tom), Greeley, Colorado, and Patty Rutledge (Tom), Jackson Springs, North Carolina; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Brady, Morgantown, West Virginia.

Marie was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Dale Brady.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Marie was a loving mother who always put her children first and was a wonderful friend to many. Her love of bingo was shared with several friends. She was also a wonderful cook and family and friends got to enjoy her Italian Heritage. Marie retired after dedicating over 20 years of service at Davis & Elkins College, where she made many lifelong friends.

One very special friend to Marie was “Toodles” Skidmore. They shared a very special bond for many, many years. She will be missed by many.

Friends may call Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home from 10 a.m. till noon, the funeral hour.

Deacon Raymond Godwin will officiate and cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to Valentine Assisted Living, 521 Davis Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Marie. The Tomblyn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangement for Helen “Marie Brady.
