David Lynn Price

He was born June 23, 1939, at the home of his parents, the late H. Hugh Price and Marjorie Wright Price, both of Belington, West Virginia. On July 17, 1986, he was joined in marriage to the former Janet E. Guinn, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Jeff Price and wife, Elizabeth, “Gidget” of Lenexa, Virginia, Kevin L. Price of Elkins, West Virginia, and Melissa B. Knowles and husband, Patrick, of Portsmouth, Virginia; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. David often said that the births of his three children were the proudest moments of his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Donald C. Price of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Barbara P. Durst of Parkton, Maryland, Philip H. Price of West Point, Virginia, Nell L. Hambelton of Norfolk, Virginia, and Randall H. Price, of Elkins, West Virginia.

David attended the schools of Barbour County and attended Fairmont State College in Fairmont, West Virginia, on a basketball scholarship. He loved the car business and wholesaled cars up and down the East coast until he retired in 2008. He also started a Jeep rental business in St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, in 1978.

David accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 2007 and was baptized by Pastor David Shelton at Belington, West Virginia.

His family and wife are forever grateful for the kindness and compassion afforded him and us, by Whitney, Jeannie, Melinda, Tammy, Kari and so many others from Mountain Hospice in Belington — you’ve truly been a blessing.

Per his request cremation will be honored. There are no services scheduled at this time.
