Phyllis Ann Currence Weese Friel

Phyllis Ann Currence Weese Friel, 63, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, in Autumn Lake Healthcare at Crystal Springs.
She was born Oct. 31, 1960, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Marlie Marvin Currence and the late Goldie Belle Rexroad Currence.
She was twice married, first to Rex Weese and later to Ronnie Friel.
Surviving is one daughter, Chelsea Renae Weese Cloud and husband, Dillon, of Elkins.
Also surviving is a brother, Julian Marvin Currence, High Point, North Carolina; sisters, Mary Lou Currence, Mill Creek, West Virginia, Ethel Icie Reinhold and husband, James, Marlinton, West Virginia, and Elizabeth Currence; step-brother, Marlie Marvin Currence Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were Timmy Allen Currence, Charles David Currence and Marvin Lee Currence, Marlene Denise Currence and her step- mother, Anna B. Watson Scott Currence.
Phyllis attended the schools of Randolph County. She enjoyed attending church, helping people and spending time with family and friends.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
Phyllis will then be moved to the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville, where a graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Brett Rhinehart will officiate and interment will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Appalachian Community Health Center, 725 Yokum Street, Elkins, WV 26241 in support of community mental health awareness.
