Well, readers, the face-off is heating up. It’s Democrats v. Republicans. It’s not hard to see the disrespect growing and manifesting since the Obama-led coup ousted Biden from the campaign. Politicians who love jagged-edge partisanship and will not lower the temperature of today’s violent discourse do not understand the Constitution, are unfamiliar with the spirit of God, do not truly have the interests of their own children and grandchildren in mind, and are the biggest part of the political problem in America. My first intention was to write a letter denouncing the Republican Convention’s excluding of anti-abortion and traditional marriage language from their platform. However, since the events of Saturday, July 13, the letter’s topic has changed dramatically. Now, I would still prefer anti-abortion and traditional marriage landscape listed as part of the platform. Reader: Officer should be officially honored

On Monday, June 24, hundreds of people lined the route from the Randolph Funeral Home and Crematory through the center of Elkins and on to Mabie to express their gratitude and respect for the life of Officer Ramon Goux. Those who wanted to honor Officer Goux stood along the streets for over an hour after the procession was set to move through Elkins and waited for the funeral rites to conclude so that they could pay their respects to him.
