Candidate: Butker was wrong about women

We can decide for ourselves. After seeing the syndicated column by Rich Lowry in the May 21st paper, I thought I would respond — and no, Butker was not right about men and women, not even close. First Conservation Banquet a success

Recently, the Mountaineer Chapter of Izaak Walton League of America held their first Conservation Banquet at the Beverly Fire Hall. The evening was a remarkable success with over 200 people attending. The chapter would like to recognize the many sponsors, individuals and groups that made this possible. The dinner for the evening was delicious and well prepared by the BVFD Ladies Auxiliary. Elkins mayor praises Strawberry Festival

I would like to say kudos to our sister City of Buckhannon for their recent success during the Strawberry Festival. Folks may ask why I often refer to Buckhannon as our sister city. Some reasons are as follows: Elkins and Buckhannon are similar in size; they are both college towns; and they both have large festivals that serve as a homecoming for their citizens. There are other similarities between our cities, but also enough unique qualities that help distinguish them from each other.
