A reader’s plan to raise funds for EHS

I am writing this letter to suggest to Elkins High School alumni and other supporters of the youth of Elkins how we can raise thousands of dollars a year to support the EHS Alumni Association, and it will only cost an individual $10 a year. I read in The Inter-Mountain recently that the EHSAA is down to a total of 10 members. I thought about how we can improve this, especially since the EHSAA exists to help support students at EHS. I do not have a good feeling about this upcoming election. I was so comfortable about the 2020 election, like half of America, and Joe Biden pulled off a huge blind-side which will probably not be matched for the rest of the 21st century; quite possibly centuries to come.   Had I been a gambler I would have bet the farm on his losing to Donald Trump. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to City Council member Erika Plishka. Last week, I drove my 93-year-old father from Charlottesville, Virginia, to visit his 96-year-old brother in Waverly, Ohio. On the way, my dad wanted to visit the gravesites of his grandfather, mother, father, brother and sister at Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins. My dad was pretty sure he knew where the graves were located.
