Abel’s five RBIs lift Lady Bucs to victory; Pendleton trips Tucker

PHILIPPI — Katielynn Warner twirled a three-hit shutout as Philip Barbour blanked East Fairmont, 15-0, Tuesday evening in Big 10 Conference action.
Warner went all four innings, striking out four and not walking a batter.
Katelyn Cooper and Payton Holbert both homered for the Lady Colts, who are now 6-0 on the season.
Katie Kennedy finished with three RBIs, Avery McDaniel and Cooper two each and Warner, Holbert, Preslee Fincham and Lindsey Moss one apiece.
Warner had two doubles on the night.
Philip Barbour is slated to visit Elkins at 5 p.m. Thursday.
B-U 16, Bridgeport 7
TENNERTON — Alyssa Abel had five RBIs, including a three-run homer, to power Buckhannon-Upshur to a 16-7 win over Bridgeport on Tuesday.
Abel finished with three hits, while Jansen Kimble and Reagan Mason had three RBIs each Avery Hamer added two.
Kynnedy Marple earned the win in 5 2/3 innings of work, allowing seven runs on seven hits.
The Lady Bucs visit Lewis County at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Pendleton 12, Tucker 3
PARSONS — Ally Vance and Baylee Beachler had homers to lead Pendleton County to a 12-3 win over Tucker County Tuesday at Camp Kidd.
Vance finished with four RBIs, including a three-run homer, Katelyn Hedrick, Beachler and Elizabeth Alt all added two RBIs each.
Beachler earned the win in three innings of work, allowing one run on two hits and striking out five.
Ava Shaffer took the loss.
Shaffer, Bella Loucks and Peyton Hicks had RBIs for the Lady Mountain Lions, who will remain home at 5 p.m. today to face Pocahontas County.
The Lady Wildcats are now 8-0 and will visit Petersburg at 6 p.m. today.
