Tigers drop three spots after close loss
ELKINS — Elkins dropped three spots to 10th in the WVSSAC Class AAA playoff ratings after a close loss at No. 5 North Marion.
The Tigers saw their five-game winning streak halted in a 22-20 setback to the Huskies (5-1).
Elkins will now host top-rated Fairmont Senior (7-0) on Friday night.
Bridgeport (7-0) is second in the Class AAA ratings, with Princeton (6-0) checking in at third and Herbert Hoover (6-0) fourth.
Philip Barbour, which was idle last week, is fourth in Class AA. The Colts (4-2) visit Class AAA, No. 12 Robert C. Byrd (3-4) on Friday.
Tucker County (7-0) remained third in Class A. Tug Valley (6-0) is first, Wahama (7-0) second, Doddridge County (6-1) fourth and Valley-Wetzel (5-1) fifth.
The Mountain Lions host Southern (Md.) on Friday.
Frankfort is first in Class AA, just ahead of Roane County (6-0) and Williamstown (7-0).
Spring Mills (6-0) and Martinsburg (7-0) set atop of the Class AAAA ratings.
