Hot-shooting Cougars get past Bulldogs

BAKER — Class A, No. 9 East Hardy placed five players in double figures and drained 13 treys in taking an 84-43 win over Tygarts Valley Friday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

The Bulldogs dropped to 5-7 on the setback. They were slated to visit Union on Tuesday but that contest was postponed until Monday.

The girls contest between the schools was also postponed to Feb. 11.

Gideon Good led the Cougars in Friday’s win with 22 points, followed by Evan Hamilton and Mason Hamilton with 15 apiece, Joseph Price with 13 and Aubrey McCullough with 12.

Jacob Wamsley led Tygarts Valley with 18 points and five rebounds.

Elijah Stanley added 11 points to go along with seven caroms, Adam Woods had three assists and Parker Bell tallied three helpers and a pair of steals.

“We gave away too many turnovers and too many offensive rebounds to a very good team,” Bulldogs coach Tom Wamsley said.
