Fast start carries Elkins past TV

ELKINS — A fast start lifted Elkins to a 46-32 win over Tygarts Valley Friday night at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.
The Lady Tigers hit three treys in the first quarter en route to building a 15-2 lead entering the second frame.
Elkins carried a 21-8 advantage into the intermission and a 32-17 cushion into the final frame.
The Lady Bulldogs held a 15-14 scoring edge in the fourth quarter.
Emma Gilbert and Madi Zirkle each had 13 points for the Lady Tigers. Kelsea Bonnell chipped in 10.

Gilbert had a pair of 3-pointers on the night.
Emily Smith had seven points and Sarah Defibaugh and Kailen Yokum six each for Tygarts Valley, which is back in action Wednesday night at home against Richwood.
Elkins remains home Monday to face Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. for a Big 10 Conference contest.
