Mountain Lions best Wildcats to earn state berth
FRANKLIN — Tucker County advanced to the Class A state tournament with a 65-46 win over Pendleton County Wednesday night in a Class A, Region II co-finale.
The Mountain Lions, who lost to the Wildcats in both regular-season meetings, will be the sixth-seed in next week’s state tournament at face No. 3 Huntington St. Joseph’s at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
Ethan Cummings had 19 points, Cayden Arnold 15 and Carson Dearborn and Samuel Marks 10 each for Tucker County (16-8) in Wednesday’s win.
