MGA gymnasts bring home state titles

BECKLEY — Mountain Gymnastics Academy (MGA) athletes turned in an exceptional showing at the West Virginia State Gymnastics Championships, earning state titles, all-around championships,and numerous podium finishes across multiple Xcel divisions.
Leading the way was Kinsley Ricottilli of Belington (Xcel Gold, Sr A), who captured the All-AroundState Championship (36.875) while placing in the top three on all four events with a 2nd-place finish on Vault, 2nd on Bars, 2nd on Beam, and 3rd on Floor.
Lily Hayes of Elkins (Xcel Sapphire, Jr) also claimed an All-Around State Championship (36.350), highlighted by 1st Place finishes on Vault and Floor and a 2nd-place finish on Beam/

Coach Jared Loudin said, “Our Silver athletes had a great meet. Ava’s bars title was a highlight, but we also saw strong finishes from everyone else on the team. It was a really solid performance from our whole group.”

• Kaylee Long of Elkins (Sr G) — 2nd on Floor
Coach Morgan Isner said, “Our gymnasts worked so hard all season and it really showed at the state meet, with several earning spots at Regionals. We had such a fun time competing, supporting each other, and celebrating our Seniors with so many great teams from across West Virginia.”

• Kenadi Carte of Montrose (Diamond, Sr A) — 3rd on Beam
• Kaelyn Kirkpatrick of Elkins (Platinum, Sr B) — 2nd on Vault, 3rd on Floor
Coach Tori, said “I couldn’t be more proud of how our girls performed at States. They truly did amazing, and it was the perfect way to close out my first season as a coach. I’m so excited to head into regionals and start pushing new upgrades with this incredible team.”
MGA Head Coach Gail Hayes reflected on the team’s overall success, “What stands out most is the strength of the program from top to bottom. We had gymnasts succeeding at every level, and that reflects the work of our athletes and coaches alike. We’re very proud of how they represented MGA at the state meet.”
