MORGANTOWN — Former West Virginia baseball player and current St. Louis Cardinals rookie J.J. Wetherholt played in his first MLB game locally against the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night. Head coach Steve Sabins and some of the coaching staff made the trip up to PNC Park to watch the former Mountaineer. MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football has made its first major splash for the class of 2027, prying a regional talent away from some neighboring schools. Four-star athlete Carter Bonner announced on 247Sports that he’s committed to the Mountaineers to play college football. PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have left the door wide open for Aaron Rodgers to return. Still, the club gave itself a little bit of protection in case he does not.
