MORGANTOWN — Paul Schoenfeld continued to make the jump to Division I baseball look rather easy Tuesday. To that same effect, West Virginia also made it look pretty easy in knocking off Maryland, 10-3, inside Kendrick Family Ballpark. Schoenfeld, an outfielder who transferred to WVU this season from Division II Colorado Mesa, went 3 for 5, including a run-scoring triple in the second inning. West Virginia baseball lost the last game against Kennesaw State for its second loss of the season. The Mountaineers canceled the series against Radford and then the makeup against Marshall. Amidst the scheduling changes, coach Steve Sabins dismissed All-Big 12 pitcher Chase Meyer from the team. WVU opened the three-game series against Columbia with a loss as well. As it turns out, Sydney Shaw had another reason to be motivated to help the 15th-ranked WVU women’s basketball team capture the Big 12 women’s tournament.
