WVU to retire quarterback Pat White's No. 5

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia athletics announced Friday morning that it will retire former Mountaineers quarterback and current assistant quarterbacks coach Pat White's No. 5 jersey this fall at a home game this season. The game is to be determined later this summer. WVU football lands commitment from 2027 wide receiver

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football earned another commitment to start the week. Three-star wide receiver and athlete Carter Davis announced on social media that he's committed to the Mountaineers for the class of 2027. Davis is another recruit WVU and Rich Rodriguez stole from other Power Four schools. The Gulf Shores, Alabama, native picked the Mountaineers over Mississippi State, who was in hot pursuit, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn and multiple other top programs. ATLANTA (AP) — Michael Harris II hit a three-run double in the seventh inning and the Atlanta Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 to complete a three-game sweep Sunday.
