Local man facing drug charges

ELKINS — An Elkins man is facing drug charges.

Shawn David Wilson, 34, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was set at $30,000 cash only by Randolph County Magistrate Michael Dyer.

According to the criminal complaint, prepared by Patrolman R.A. Summerfield of the Elkins Police Department, he and another officer responded to a complaint of an unwanted person. Let into an apartment on Second Street, officers made contact with Wilson.

Inside the apartment, officers found a .380 caliber gun on the window sill, the complaint states. Inside a backpack, officers found baggies that “contained a crystal like substance consistent with methamphetamine.”

Also found were several smoking devices which Wilson said were his, and a box of Remington .380 rounds, according to the complaint, as well as what appeared to be marijuana. Wilson allegedly told the officers that he smokes marijuana.

Starting at $3.92/week.
