District 8 to crown champions
Little League 10-12-year-old and 8-10 title games set for tonight

HUTTONSVILLE -- A pair of state berths are on the line this evening in District 8 Little League tournament action at Tygart Valley Little League Fields.
In 10-12-year-old action, Belington-Barbour County will square off against Tygart Valley in the championship game at 8:30 p.m.
The winner advances to the state tournament to begin July 12 at Melvin Heckel Field at Riverbend Park in Elkins, while the loser remains alive for a berth, needing to defeat the winner of the 6:30 p.m. game between Summersville and Pocahontas County at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
In 8-10-year-old action, Elkins battles Belington-Barbour County at 6 p.m. today in the championship contest.
The victor moves on the state tournament that gets underway July 4 in Huntington.
The loser of that contest faces the winner between the 8 p.m. game between Tucker County and Braxton County at 11 a.m. Saturday to clinch a state berth as the district runner-up.
