COALTON - The 31st annual Coalton Days Sunday Best & Miss Coalton Pageant will begin at 6 p.m. on June 18 in the Coalton school gymnasium. Grand Jury to hear case against Ray

ELKINS — The Grand Jury will hear the case against a local pastor accused of selling vehicles to customers that were under bank liens after he waived his preliminary hearing. Curlie Eugene Ray Jr., 55, of Beverly, is charged with one count of fraudulent schemes, a felony. He is currently being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond. Ray serves as the senior pastor of Tygart Valley Ministries, Beverly Community Church. On Monday, Ray appeared in Randolph County Magistrate Court and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. DOT says beware of hydroplaning

ELKINS – With more rain in the weather forecast for this weekend, the West Virginia Department of Transportation is urging drivers to be aware of the dangers of hydroplaning on slick roads. The National Weather Service is calling for showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, with a 90% chance of precipitation during the day and 80% overnight. The NWS is predicting rain to continue through the weekend into Sunday in our region.
