Putting up lights a community event

I am often amazed at the generosity and kindness of the people of Elkins. This weekend once again made me realize what a special place I live in and how people step up when needed. With this unusual year came the lack of the inmate work crew which is essential to the placement of the Christmas lights in the Elkins Town Square. So, no Christmas lights this year? That was just not acceptable in a year when people need something positive and festive to brighten the holiday season. County clerk, staff’s efforts appreciated

I worked both the primary and general election polls this 2020 election year. Brenda Wiseman and her staff at the County Clerk’s office are professional, efficient, patient and kind. And on top of all that, they are great to work with. Any time there was a need to call their office with a concern or issue, they were quick to answer and solve the problem. Hyperloop will create great opportunities

It was recently announced that Virgin, the multinational venture capital conglomerate, intends to open a Hyperloop certification facility and testing track on approximately 800 acres that span Tucker and Grant counties. Reader: America is now in decline

On Sunday, Nov. 8, Iran made a statement that the election process proved that America was “in decline.” For once I agree wholeheartedly with Iran. In these modern times there is no excuse for not having a voting process that is tamperproof and error proof. It’s more complicated to run Facebook than it should be to run an honest voting process. Newly elected sheriff is congratulated

In the election for sheriff of Randolph County, the people have spoken. Congratulations to Rob Elbon.
