Ways to support our veterans of combat

More than 20 combat veterans commit suicide every day. The armed forces have many programs to help stem this horrible plight, but I was wondering what you or I could do to help. If you’re behind a service member in the gas station check-out line, offer to buy their tank of gas and thank them for their service. If that is beyond your monetary means, just tap them on the shoulder and thank them for letting you sleep better at night. Understanding what police go through

Not many in our society know what an officer of the law goes through. of the police officers are pretty durable and have the mental capacity to hold up. There are psychiatrists when needed. But, for the most part, they are able to put things into perspective and handle whatever it is that is thrown at them at the time. Reader baffled by public’s support

How can people support a president who has no leadership except lies? He has lied to us about COVID-19. His lies are: We have one case. Then we have 15 cases. We have it under control. It will just go away when it gets warm. It will all be going away by Easter. We have control on it. It is just a hoax put out by the Dems. If you wear a mask, it shows you are against me. Who will keep up county cemeteries?

I am thinking today about the younger generation and what is going to happen once the older generation is gone. I am involved in the upkeep of two country cemeteries, Kerns Cemetery at Sully and Kelly Mountain Cemetery near Elkins. They are both beautiful cemeteries. Both are nicely fenced and are in good repair. However, they both need to be mowed and trimmed at least five months out of the year. We have people who will do the work, but the money is not available to do what we need to do. Seems the younger generation has no thoughts about what it takes to keep a cemetery going. ...
