PURPLE MAJESTIES: The Elkins Purple Majesties (Red Hats) will meet today at 11:30 a.m. at Knot Just Another Barn off Kingsville Road. The theme will be fall/halloween. YOU SHOULD RUN: Do you want to make a meaningful difference in Randolph County and West Virginia? Do you have ideas to share? If so, join us on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 5 p.m. at the Russell Memorial Public Library, 10038 Seneca Trail, Mill Creek and learn about offices on the ballot in May and November of 2026, register to vote, and get information on running for office. Experts will be on hand to share their knowledge and answer questions. Light refreshments will be served. This event is informal and free and open to the public. ALLEGHENY REGIONAL FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY: will hold a regular meeting Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. in the library at the IOOF Building located on the Beverly Five-Lane. Those interested in genealogy are encouraged to attend and become a member of ARFHS. The library is now open on Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. If staff is available, appointments can be made for other times by calling the following numbers: 304-636-8528, 304-636-2072 or 304-636-1650.

REVIVAL: There will be a revival at Christ’s Church, Thursday, Oct. 16, Friday, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. Pastors Rick and Brenda Wyatt welcome the public to attend. Come to church.

BUCKWHEAT FEED: Asbury United Methodist Church in Belington will be having a buckwheat feed on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to noon. Pancakes will also be available.

FARMERS MARKET: The Elkins Farmers Market, located behind the Railroad Depot, is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Lots of parking is available behind the Summit Church buildings. We have a large variety of vegetables of the season, eggs, cakes, cookies, jams, breads, flowers, crafts and more.

SPAGHETTI DINNER: The Whitmer Community Church will be having a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Oct. 18 from noon until 5 p.m. For more information, contact Susie Wymer at 304-227-4260.

BUCKWHEAT AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Randolph IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the Lodge Hall along the Beverly Five-lane on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 7 a.m. to noon. The all-you-can-eat menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, milk, coffee or orange juice, Carry outs will be available.

BUCKWHEAT FEED: The Men’s Fellowship Group of the Beverly Methodist Church will be having a Buckwheat Feed on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the church from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will consist of buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, sausage patty, eggs, gravy, coffee, milk and juice.

SPAGHETTI DINNER: The St, Patrick’s Parish Hall in Coalton will host a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, Oct. 19. Dine-in and Carry-outs will be available.

TRUNK-OR-TREAT: Harrison Community Church, at 1868 Cassity Road, Mabie, is sponsoring a trunk or treat on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening will be filled with crafts, refreshments, and fellowship. Everyone is welcome to attend and join in the fun!

OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, Dulcimer, Bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. For more information, contact dp-foot@hotmail.com.

VETERANS DAY DINNER: will be hosted by American Legion Post 29 on Saturday, November 8. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; Dinner served at 6:30 p.m. The baked steak dinner is free to all veterans and guests may purchase tickets at a nominal fee. Guest speaker will be Marty Broderick, the President of Operation Firm Handshake. Tickets will be limited and should be picked up by Nov. 5.

TOPS 0590 MILL CREEK: meets at the Russell Memorial Library in Mill Creek every Wednesday. Weigh-in is from 10:30-10:45 a.m. Meeting following weigh in. For information contact Jane Robinson at 304 338-6403.
