HOMEMADE PIZZA SALE: The Whitmer Community Church’s Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a homemade pizza sale at the church today from noon until 5 p.m. Those interested can order to eat-in or carry-out. Options include pepperoni and cheese pizza, cheese pizza and “The Paradise,” a 7-topping pizza. Those interested in placing an order can call 304-227-4798.
WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The Augusta Heritage Center’s weekly acoustic music jam sessions are now taking place at Armadillo Flats at C.J. Maggie’s Restaurant on Davis Avenue in Elkins throughout the winter months. The country music jam sessions will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., while the old-time music jam sessions will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All levels and instruments are welcome as well as singers and listeners. NEW EXHIBITIONS OPENING RECEPTION: at The Arts Center on Jan. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Great Hall and the Maxwell Gallery to celebrate the opening of new art exhibitions. In the Great Hall, the D&E Student Exhibition will be on display with never-before-seen works. In the Maxwell Gallery, A Life of Art & Craft, a solo exhibition by Judy Van Gundy, will be on display.
OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, dulcimer, bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. Contact dp-foot@hotmail.com.
BUCKWHEAT FEED: will be hosted by the Men’s Fellowship Group of the Beverly Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the church from 7 a.m. to Noon. The menu will consist of buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, sausuage patty, eggs, gravy, coffee, milk and juice.
ANNUAL WINTER WALK: On Saturday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at Glendale Park, Elkins. Dress warmly and meet at the first pavilion as you enter the park. Participants will be discovering tree barks and bugs. You can also participate in the Annual Audubon Bird Count. Bring binoculars if you have them. Some will be available. Check Elkins Friends of Trees Facebook page for possible cancellation due to weather.
TOPS 0590 MILL CREEK: meets at the Russell Memorial Library in Mill Creek every Wednesday. Weigh-in is from 10:30-10:45 a.m. Meeting following weigh in. For information call 304-338-6403.
