Work camp programs offering assistance

ELKINS — A local nonprofit is gearing up to give back to the community by providing Randolph County residents with necessary home repairs.

The Elkins office of Catholic Charities West Virginia is now accepting applications for assistance by various work camp programs that are set to come to Randolph County this summer.

“We just want to let the community know that if there are homeowners out there that meet the low income guidelines, and they need work done on their home, they should come to the Catholic Charities office to fill out an application for the upcoming summer work camps run by Mary Help of Christians Pastoral Center in Huttonsville,” said Amanda Butler of Catholic Charities West Virginia, adding that there is no charge for the work or materials.

To be eligible for program assistance, applicants must be Randolph County residents, own the home and be within income guidelines that vary depending on household size.

2020 income guidelines begin at a monthly gross income of $1,595 for a household of one and increase by $560 for every additional household member.

In order to apply, one must fill out an application from the Elkins office of Catholic Charities West Virginia and attach proof of income for every adult living within the household.

For additional information, contact the Elkins office of Catholic Charities West Virginia at 304-636-4875. The organization is open on Mondays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Starting at $3.92/week.
